About Menai
Menai is in the Sutherland Shire, south-west of the Sydney CBD and close to Bangor, Illawong, Alfords Point, Barden Ridge and Lucas Heights. It was first called Bangor, after the Welsh birthplace of farmer Owen Jones, before the name was changed to Menai in 1910. The suburb is known for later family housing and shopping around Menai Road.
